Usually I don t read novels based on history but I have to say this book was totally worth taking a leap of faith I don t know if the parts of history described actually happened in the exact same way but I appreciate an appropriate amount of artistic freedom It may not be a bestseller or anything but if you want a book that connects the present with the past you ll like it

As much as I wanted to like this book I was fairly disappointed with it Throughout this book nothing major happened It was of telling two parallel stories in time no intrigueno conflictnothing I felt like it was the beginning of a trilogy when it s a stand alone novelI kept turning the pages and thinking that something is finally about to happen and this went on until the very end Another thing I didn t like was the lack of depth in the characters Overall the book seemed very superficial to me rather commercial and definitely not written in a way to captivate me As I said I was expecting much than this
